        Expression of interferon-γ receptor in the carotid body of goats

        Objective:To examine the existence of γ-interferon receptor(IFNGR) in the carotid body(CB) of female goats.Methods:Immunohistochemical SP method was adopted to observe the distribution characteristics of IFNGR in the CB.Image-Pro Plu 6.OGPP 6.0) was used to evaluate the expression difference of IFNGR between parenchyma cells and nonparenchyma cells.Results:The results of immumohistochemical staining showed that IFNGR immunopositivity was widely distributed in CB of female goats,and different levels of staining existed in type Ⅰ cells,type Ⅱ cells,vascular endothelial cells and nerve fibers.Strong immunostaining was found in the parenchyma cells(type Ⅰ cells and type Ⅱ cells);the medium or strong immunostaining was found in the endothelial cells of the CB interlobular! and the weak immunostaining was found in the endothelial cells of the leaflets.Images analysis showed that the relative expression of IFNGR in parenchyma cells was significantly higher than that in non-parenchyma cells structure.Conclusion:The parenchyma cells(type Ⅰ and Ⅱ cells) in the CB of goats are the main cells that IFN-γ target,which implies that IFN-γ may affect type Ⅰ and Ⅱ cells' perception and transmission of the chemical information in the animal blood by IFNGR located in the CB type Ⅰ and Ⅱ cells,so as to regulate cardiovascular function.
